In this article I found in my newspaper the other day, they talk about a lady who moved to a new town and started getting stalked. Now, she has been reporting this to the police several times, changed numbers and so on, still she's getting no help at all from the police. The consider it to be harmless. She says that things like this are the reason that women end up dead in bushes. And I can't do other than to agree with her! It's crazy that people/the police don't take things like this more seriously. It annoys me. And as a young woman it quite frankly scares me. If they won't help a woman who has been reporting this several times in one year, if they "can't" come when people call the ambulance and the police when people are getting hurt or comitting crimes and "can't" stop the people who are doing these things, then why should I trust them to save my life when I get attacked, talked or abused? If the police won't help you, who will? With swedish laws be can bearly protect ourseves when someone breaks in to our home without being charged. I don't mind paying taxes, knowing the money will coeback to help me, but when they don't... Why should we pay for... nothing. We make a call, hoping someone will help us, but no one comes to our rescue. Are we really all alone?
What is it like in other countries? Tell me, is it only Sweden that works in this crappy way?
